Surgery timing

They had already opened his chest and had tubes placed in his heart. According to his surgeon, they have 4 hours to get the heart from the donor, transport it here (which can take up to 2 of the 4 hours) and complete putting the new heart in him. They have to do part of the surgery before the heart ever arrives in order to be done in the 4 hours. Since the biopsy took about 45 minutes to get results, they could not wait. He was very disappointed and upset at first, but once his dr explained all of this, he is in pretty good spirits
